On January 10-13, 2019, I will be participating in the Disney Dopey Challenge as part of the American Association for Cancer Research team for the fifth year in a row. Over a course of four days, I will run a total of 49.3 miles. I will be running in honor of my mother whom we lost suddenly in February, 2017. Mom was the strongest person I have ever known, and she taught me many things. One of those was to try to make a positive difference in other people's lives. Mom did that every day of her life. For years she collected in her neighborhood for the Cancer Association as she lost both of her own parents to cancer.
Raising funds for cancer research is also important to me for another reason. In 2015, my cousin lost his fight with multiple myeloma at age 43, and left behind his wife and three beautiful young children. He fought his battle valiantly for two years. I have been fundraising for the American Association for Cancer Research since he was diagnosed. With your help, we can make a difference and assist the American Association for Cancer Research in finding cures for cancers like multiple myeloma so that others have a chance of living long happy lives.
By donating, you will help bring us one step further to finding cures for cancer. And, if you donate $25 or more, I will send you a dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies. A link to my donation page is provided below.
